Treasures and Trinkets
Join renowned artist and watercolour instructor Danielle Beaulieu for Treasures & Trinkets, an
inspiring six-week online class focused on capturing the beauty, nostalgia, and charm of curated
objects. During this class, participants will explore at least two different types of collection—
buttons, old toys, vintage tins, etc. —learning to depict their textures, reflections, and intricate
details with watercolour.
Danielle Beaulieu, a renowned artist, juror including for the Society of Canadian Artists, and
watercolour instructor, holds the prestigious position of an elected member in the Society of
Canadian Artists. Her artistic achievements have been showcased in solo exhibitions and
galleries across both Canada and the United States. Furthermore, her paintings have earned
publication in notable magazines such as Global Art Times, Arabella Magazine, UPPERCASE
magazine, and the Readers’ Competition section of the Art of Watercolour magazine.
You can learn more about Danielle and see additional examples of her artworks on her official
website, DanielleBeaulieuWatercolours.com.
Throughout the 6-week online class, you’ll be guided through layering techniques, wet-on-wet
and wet-on-dry applications, and strategies for achieving realism and atmosphere in their work.
This class will encourage both technical growth and personal storytelling through art.
All participants can paint along to apply the demonstrated techniques. The focus will be on
interactive and individualized instruction, and you will be encouraged to ask questions
throughout.
Between classes, you may send photos of either in-progress or completed paintings to Danielle
for a private critique or advice to take your painting to the next stage.
You may have approximately 2 hours of guided “homework” each week.
If you cannot attend any of the live classes, don’t worry. All the presentations and recordings
will be available to you after each class.
Painting experience is necessary.
You will need to download the ZOOM app. There is an online tutorial available at:
