Far Portrait by Donata Szafian

Donata Szafian is a classically trained artist with a BFA from Janus Pannonius University, and a BA and MA from the Hungarian University of Applied Arts in Budapest.  Here is a fun fact!  Donata financed much of her post graduate art education by drawing portraits of passers-by in public spaces.  Portraiture remains a key component of her passion for art.

Class Description:

In this eight week class, Donata will guide you through the planning, preparation, and drawing or painting process for one or more of your master works.  You are welcome to bring reference photos of people or places.  The subject matter is of your choosing.

In the first few classes, she will lead you through exercises to strengthen your use of line, shadow, value, tone, rendering, perspective, and more.  She will demonstrate how these concepts apply to portraiture, still lifes, and landscapes.  Throughout, Donata will provide individual attention to help you move forward with your project(s).
