The artist’s message:
“During this workshop I will encourage you to paint fluidly, to take risks and to hone in on your strengths and weaknesses in order to identify your unique artistic style. Frequent individual attention will be provided. Throughout the workshop many demonstrations will be given. In order to fully integrate proposed techniques and concepts, I will be giving you exercises to be painted on small pieces of good quality watercolour paper. Although these preliminary works start off as exercises, the final result will be well-balanced, finished paintings. Some of the subjects that we will see include colour choices, composition elements and principals, layering and negative space, wet-on-wet painting and intuitive painting. Òn the last day of the workshop I will ask students to develop their own personal project, with my guidance of course, bringing in everything we’ve seen the days before”.
