The workshop:

In this four day portrait/figure workshop, you’ll learn how to simplify forms like faces, noses and mouths and how to imbue portraits with gesture and emotion. You’ll have an in depth look at volume, contrast, gradients, connecting colors, varying color tones, perspective, and skin colors. You will be able to effectively use and portray shadows (warm and cold, soft and hard, tonal variations in shadows). You will understand how different types of brush strokes help to achieve desired effects. And, most importantly, you will know how to capture the light!

Watercolor Level Skills:

The workshop is suitable for both professional artists and art students who are, at least, at an intermediate level.

Fees:

KAC members: $850.00, non-members:$890.00

Terms and Conditions

Registration opens for KAC volunteers on November 1st. It will open for KAC members on November 14th, and for non-members on November 30th.

The Kanata Art Club reserves the right to cancel a workshop if there is insufficient registration. You will be notified and will receive a full refund.

To withdraw from the workshop, please contact: treasurer@kanataartclub.com. A full refund less an administrative fee of $25.00 will be issued if a written request is received by July 24th, 2025. There will be no refund issued beyond that date unless we are able to fill your spot from a waitlist.
